In this study, 36 % of patients , who were treated with Contrave lost at least 5 % of their body weight, related to 18 % of patients treated with a placebo.
Contrave was specifically approved for overweight adults (body-mass index between 27 and 30) and for obese adults (meaning a body-mass index of 30 or higher) who have at least one other weight-related condition or illness, such as type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure.
